BIO

A professional bass player/singer with over 35 years of experience. *Randy is an accomplished player in a variety of styles including R&B, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Pop and Rock. 

Since moving to Nashville in 1994, he has toured the world, performed, and/or recorded with artists such as, Larry Carlton, Louise Mandrell, Lorrie Morgan, Christopher Cross, The Peach Pickers (Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson & Ben Haslip) Pam Tillis, Trisha Yearwood, Ty Herndon, Jamie O’Neal, Billy Dean, Daryle Singletary, Rhett Akins, The Katinas, Christ Church Choir, Lee Ann Womack, and many others. 

Randy played Electric & Upright Bass in Lee Ann Womack’s band for 9 years (2005-2014), as well as handling Back Ground Vocals.  During his tenure with Lee Ann, he performed many shows/venues including the 2005 CMA Awards at Madison Square Garden in NYC,  Lincoln Center NYC, Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Colorado, PBS's Soundstage in Chicago, NYC's Bowery Ballroom, The Grand Ole Opry, 2010 & 2011 George Strait Tour, 2001 Allen Jackson Tour as well as The Bonnie Hunt Show, The View, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Several years ago Randy’s traditional jazz band, Nash de Ville signed a record deal with Summit Records . Their debut album “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be” included brilliant performances by friend and guitar great, Larry Carlton, saxophonists Kirk Whalum & Mark Douthit and pianist/songwriter Pete Wasner.  In addition to being called on for his bass playing.  Randy is also a sought-after vocalist for gigs & sessions in and around Nashville.

 

In early 2015, Randy helped form another original local band named 1% Wally with Nashville veterans Guitarist Mike Waldron (Lee Ann Womack), Steel Guitarist Gary Mores ( Brooks and Dunn), Singer/Songwriter Kim Parent (Brooks and Dunn),  Drummer Wes Little (Robben Ford) and Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Christopher Cross.

In July of 2017 Randy joined multiplatinum selling country artist & Grand Ole Opry member Lorrie Morgan's band, traveling the world and handling both bass & background vocals.  When not on the road with Lorrie, Randy(aka "The Protector" by Lorrie) also teaches private lessons, writes charts and is an "on-call" session player in Nashville, TN. 

 

Always trying to keep honing his craft and growing as a player, Randy helped form a new original Rock band in early 2018 called Facing Eden with some of Nashville's finest players: Michael Whittaker (Keys), Ron Hemby (Vocals), Bart Walker (Guitar) & Wes Little (Drums).        
 

The consummate professional Randy believes in excellence and strives for excellence in everything he does. "Whether I’m playing a club gig, showcase, recording session, touring with a national artist or teaching a young student the basics, I believe in giving my very best.”
